The cheapest skip hire can be found in a tiny shop west of Aleksandr. Those were local made vans, just enough tweaked to fill in garbage without hassles. The shop enjoyed enough rush to promulgate pre-book service only. The manager was a very good man and entertained all customers especially us teenagers with a variety stories and experiences. The following story was related to us on eve of All Saint's Day.
Back during the Red Wars there weren't many schools. One had few options, between Madame Teesside’s school run in a broken-down post WWII building and my school in Haven square. Of course, one can go to the St. Joseph's on palace square. But that was way too expensive for any commoner. I must agree that all schools had in common a certain atmosphere of discipline and fear felt by all students and perhaps also by teachers. Every Wednesday fortnightly we were taken to an excursion to Rose Forest. It was then within 5 miles of our locality, with abundant of game and pleasing flora and fauna, especially during spring and summer. Mostly we would sit by the forest pool and enjoy the day after a little discussion headed by Miss Rosemary. One can see all sorts of animals from deer to hogs come here to drink water. Then we would go deep into the forest down the unused well. In course of time we will be asked to note down all the experiences we had during the trip. Then at last, in the afternoon we would return to our school. I am told that some schools even took their students to as far as far the North Ridge. I personally never went there on school trips. Because we were told that the course of Polkser River there would be very fast.
I remember they were my best days, sitting in the glorious summer sun and looking at the butterflies and kingfishers. One of my friends would get us some snacks and we would enjoy them besides the ponds. I remember those beautiful flowers the girls collected and shared with us. Those were the best days in my life.
